Bedside Emergency Ultrasound (Harvard CME)

8-9 Septembre, Boston

http://www.hms-cme.net/341419/

This course provides an overview of point-of-care ultrasound and reviews the evidence behind the major applications used in emergency and critical care medical practice. The course provides two days of hands-on instruction in image acquisition and image interpretation; the faculty-to-student ratio is never more than 1:5. At the completion of this course, students will have knowledge of how to incorporate point-of-care ultrasound into their practice and have gained experience with image acquisition and interpretation.

The educational methodologies include a combination of brief didactic teaching sessions to cover the most well-known applications and machine basics with focused small group hands-on training sessions and a "case review" session to demonstrate how these images fit into patient care decision making. Together, these methodologies further participant’s knowledge and competence and enhance their ability to apply that knowledge in clinical practice, thereby achieving the learning objectives and desired changes in competence and performance.
